Custom Label: upload your own AI labeling icon
The built-in labeling badge doesn't fit every design. With Custom Label (PRO) you upload your own icon – separately for 'AI generated' and 'AI modified', rendered at exactly the size you upload.
Img Performer’s built-in labeling badge is intentionally neutral – a small pill with text, adjustable in position, colour, and contrast. For most sites, that’s enough. But some customers have their own icon system, a brand guideline to follow, or simply want the label to sit more naturally in their existing visual language than a text pill can.
What Custom Label does
With PRO you can now upload your own image as the labeling badge – separately for the two cases “AI generated” and “AI modified”. Both go into a reusable icon pool, so you don’t have to re-upload every time you switch.
Importantly, your icon renders at exactly the size you upload it – no server-side scaling, no automatic cropping. What you upload is what appears on the frontend. Once a Custom Label is active, we hide the position, colour, and contrast settings, since those only apply to the built-in label – your icon already brings its own look.
Any image format your media library accepts is allowed, including SVG, provided a plugin on your site enables that.
Two small follow-ups
During the initial rollout we noticed the custom icon sat with the built-in pill’s 8px margin around it – often wrong for a custom icon, since those usually bring their own spacing already. It now sits flush against the image. And an oversized icon could bleed into the next image, because the original size constraint had no actual effect – fixed with overflow:hidden instead of a max-height rule alone.
Bottom line
Custom Label is a PRO feature and doesn’t change detection itself – that still works identically to Free. It only changes how the label becomes visible. If you’re happy with the built-in badge, there’s nothing to do; if you need your own icon, you’ll find the option under AI Labeling → Badge Settings.
